A paratrooper company’s journey into Africa and to an abandoned Egyptian village on the road to Ismailia (a kind of reverse Exodus), concludes when the village becomes a military outpost – and the outpost an allegory of the fate of us all, and the tragedy of new, modern-day Israel.
