איש הולך את ארץ ישראל משה אורן

Returning to that unique journey (1993), thirty years later, and to the book that was published the following year (A Man Walks the Land of Israel, Beitan books, 1994) – both of which were the first of their kind in Israel – in a short film (20 minutes) that combines photographs taken there, along the route, and passages from the book.

The book’s back matter states: “The story of a bold, somewhat insane, and highly symbolic endeavor. A journey that was the first of its kind in every way: the scenes, the tributes (works carried out in the field), and the stories. All these embark, together with the man who walks, on a long journey on foot, traversing the entire country in eighteen days, from Tel Dan in the north to the Bay of Eilat in the south”.

The film, like the book before it, is a love song to the land of my childhood and youth. The Land of Israel of all who, like me, were born together with the state. A land that, to a great extent, once was and is no more.
